LUANGPRABANG -ALMS GIVING – KUNGSI WATER FALL
For early-risers around 05:30, there is a very special dawn visit to witness the monks leaving their pagodas to receive offerings of food from Luang Prabang residents. It is a beautiful, serene ceremony that highlights the spiritualism of the Lao people. Continue then with a drive through the Luang Prabang countryside to Kuang Si Waterfalls. Upon reaching Kuang Si Waterfall, enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings or explore the surrounding dense jungle on foot. For the adventurous, it is possible to walk to the top of the falls via a steep track where beautiful views await. These waterfalls cascade down a multilevel limestone formation creating a series of turquoise blue pools perfect for swimming on a hot day (if swimming, please dress modestly). Enjoy a delicious picnic lunch. On the route back, we visit to the Free the Bears sanctuary, housing 23 Asiatic Bears which were rescued from poaching. Additionally, make a stop at the unique Lao Buffalo Dairy Farm, a social enterprise that produces sustainable and delicious cheese while giving back to the community and environment. While the buffalo may be the stars here, there are also playful pigs, cheeky chickens and rollicking r abbits that are just as fun to interact with for the young and young at heart. Enjoy a homemade ice cream at the cafe before saying goodbye to the Buffaloes and the team. .
TUESDAY – FRIDAY PAINTING & RENOVATION PROJECT
One of the ongoing challenges in Laos is inadequate infrastructure. Although Luang Prabang features modern developments in certain areas, many essential public facilities—such as schools, hospitals, and community centers relied on by low-income communities—remain in poor condition. Volunteers contribute their time and skills to renovate and improve these spaces through activities like repairs and painting. They are based in Luang Prabang and support projects both in the city and in nearby villages.
SATURDAY – FREE DAY
This is your day to relax and Schedules are kept flexible to ensure that our volunteers have adequate time to experience the uniqueness of the Lao culture and discover the heritage city of Luang Prabang & surrounding areas.
SUNDAY RICE EXPERIENCE AND LAO COOKING CLASS
After breakfast, we will head to the Living Land Farm – a social enterprise that funds education opportunities for local youth – to participate in planting, harvesting & processing rice with traditional equipment and techniques. Rice is a staple of the Lao diet, economy, and culture, making this is the perfect way to kick off your Laos experience. That evening we’ll join a Lao Cooking Class and prepare our own feast of delicious Lao cuisine!.
MONDAY – FRIDAY TEACHING PROJECT
Volunteers work four to six hours a day teaching English to young Buddhist monks, poor children or disadvantaged students from remote areas of Luang Prabang in different ages and different levels at our community.
