Volunteer Teaching in Laos
Roots & Leaves Volunteer Laos is a community-based volunteer program established and operated by English Club Laos to support English education and youth development in Luang Prabang. As part of the same organization, Roots & Leaves Volunteer Laos was created to connect dedicated international volunteers with local educational initiatives, helping expand learning opportunities for students in our community. .
Our community is located within the peaceful grounds of a temple in the heart of Luang Prabang. While our classrooms are situated on temple premises, we operate as an inclusive and welcoming community learning center that is open to people of all backgrounds. Community members, students and monks are encouraged to participate in our educational activities whenever their schedules allow. This unique setting provides a supportive environment for learning, cultural exchange and community engagement.
Volunteers work alongside experienced Lao teachers, supporting classroom instruction through engaging, practical and interactive learning activities. Depending on the program schedule, volunteers typically assist with three to four classes per day, helping students improve their English communication skills and confidence.
Beyond language education, our program promotes cultural exchange, mutual understanding, and community development. Volunteers have the opportunity to immerse themselves in Lao culture while making a meaningful contribution to local education. If you are passionate about education, cross-cultural learning and creating positive social impact, we would be delighted to welcome you to Luang Prabang. Together, we can inspire lifelong learning and help empower the next generation through education..
