Volunteer

Our volunteers come from all over the world, the only requirements being the ability to speak English, coupled with a keen interest to help. To Join any of our projects, we do not require any certificate or any experience, or even require being a native speaker.  However, we do require that you speak English to an advanced level, with a clear accent and we are looking for are people of all ages, from any country, who have a desire to help Lao people.

In return, teaching volunteers will find that our Lao students are eager and hard-working and a true delight to get to know. While working with our students, you’ll witness progress and celebrate both big and small victories together. You’ll gain valuable teaching and tutoring experience and will often find yourself learning as much as your students! You will gain insight into the Lao culture and volunteers often develop lasting friendships with our students. Many also have opportunities get to know their families as well.
Having the opportunity to support and influence the lives of these students is a privilege and makes for a truly meaningful, memorable, and enjoyable experience for our volunteers.

If you are looking for a meaningful, purposeful experience, join the Roots-Leaves Volunteer Laos Program today! No matter how short your stay, your time, your knowledge, your energy, has a profound impact on the life our local people.

Group Volunteering

Roots-Leaves Volunteer Laos has always loved catering to groups of volunteers. Most of our groups choose to work alongside our individual volunteers on existing projects however we also offer the opportunity for groups to create bespoke projects.

Past group projects have included high school students delivering a two-week teaching and construction program. Over the last year we have established cooperation with international schools that send groups of students to volunteer with us for two weeks

A group from ISC/ODYSSEY “Term Break” has been with us for two years running and a group from Excelia Business School in France keeps coming back. We also have an interesting development where smaller groups of 6-7 friends , family members, and/or relatives come volunteering together.

All group projects are set up by our team in collaboration with you and our community ensuring that your project is beneficial for all those involved. No matter which type of project you choose your group will always be consulted on your accommodation preferences and Roots-Leaves Volunteer Laos will always endeavor to find you the best possible accommodation to suit your budget.
