Cruise Boats

Various operators offer 2-3 day cruises between Chiang Kong in Thailand and Luang Prabang. This is probably a trip best taken slowly to enjoy the scenery.

Speedboats

Lao speedboats are flat-bottom skiffs with outsize outboard motors that can make the trip from the Thai border in just a few hours. Note: Helmets are required on these trips. Tickets can be bought at all travel agents.
