LUANGPRABANG -ALMS GIVING – KUNGSI WATER FALL
For early-risers around 05:30, there is a very special dawn visit to witness the monks leaving their pagodas to receive offerings of food from Luang Prabang residents. It is a beautiful, serene ceremony that highlights the spiritualism of the Lao people. Continue then with a drive through the Luang Prabang countryside to Kuang Si Waterfalls. Upon reaching Kuang Si Waterfall, enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings or explore the surrounding dense jungle on foot. For the adventurous, it is possible to walk to the top of the falls via a steep track where beautiful views await. These waterfalls cascade down a multilevel limestone formation creating a series of turquoise blue pools perfect for swimming on a hot day (if swimming, please dress modestly). Enjoy a delicious picnic lunch. On the route back, we visit to the Free the Bears sanctuary, housing 23 Asiatic Bears which were rescued from poaching. Additionally, make a stop at the unique Lao Buffalo Dairy Farm, a social enterprise that produces sustainable and delicious cheese while giving back to the community and environment. While the buffalo may be the stars here, there are also playful pigs, cheeky chickens and rollicking r abbits that are just as fun to interact with for the young and young at heart. Enjoy a homemade ice cream at the cafe before saying goodbye to the Buffaloes and the team. Overnight in Luang Prabang .

TUESDAY – FRIDAY PAINTING & RENOVATION PROJECT
A challenge Laos continues to face is its poor infrastructure. While upscale developments can be found throughout Luang Prabang, facilities like community centers, schools and hospitals that are depended upon by the poor continue to be run down. Volunteers bring labor to help restore buildings, fixing or painting. Volunteers live in Luang Prabang and work in the city and surrounding areas. Overnight in Luangprabang.

SATURDAY – FREE DAY

That evening we’ll join a Lao Cooking Class and prepare our own feast of delicious Lao cuisine!.
